Crystal Bay Casino welcomes rock up-and-comers Crystal Garden to its Crown Room on Thursday, Oct. 12, for a night of feel-good music.

“Crystal Garden is the brainchild of Boyd Tinsley of Dave Matthews Band.

“For two years he sought out the right group of musicians to form a modern day rock band,” states Crystal Garden’s online biography.

The result is a trio combined of Seattle- and Toronto-based musicians — guitarist and vocalist Mycle Wastman, bassist Charlie Csontos and drummer Matthew Frewen — that joined forces back in 2015.

Together the three released their first full-length record, “Let the Rocks Cry Out,” in March earlier this year. The album features Tinsley (who produced the group’s debut) and jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan.

Following the release of “Let the Rocks Cry Out,” Crystal Garden went on a 21-stop tour throughout the East Coast that concluded at the start of August. The summer gigs came on the heels of the group’s performances in Canada during the winter of 2016, and preceded the band’s fall tour that began in late September.

“Let the Rocks Cry Out” is an 11-track record that features notable songs “Devil Woman” and “People,” which evoke slow-rolling sounds reminiscent of the group’s affiliate: Dave Matthews Band.

Tinsley joins Crystal Garden for the band’s North Shore performance, which begins at 9 p.m.

Tickets, available through http://www.crystalbaycasino.com, cost $15 in advance and rise to $18 on the day of the show.

Crystal Bay Casino is located at 14 NV 28.
