Dry weather is ideal for outdoor recreation

Simon Smith

A bright, sunny and warm day is expected today with generally light winds and temperatures running rather warm, with highs from near 70 around the shoreline of Lake Tahoe to the mid to upper 70s away from the water.

Lows tonight will return to the upper 30s in Meyers and Truckee, lower to mid 40s in town, and upper 40s to lower 50s on the east shore and up on Kingsbury Grade as inversions begin to settle in.

There does not appear to be any threat of precipitation for the next few days, although by the weekend, areas to our south near Bridgeport may begin to see a few afternoon thunderstorms.

For the time being, this will be great weather to get out on the area lakes, do some hiking, fishing or whatever outdoor activities you enjoy.
