Eleanore Rodgers

Eleanore Ruby “Nana” Rodgers passed away peacefully at her home in Olympia, Wash., on Feb. 25, 2005.

Eleanore was born Jan. 28, 1920, in San Francisco, Calif. She spent most of her life in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Tahoe and the Cameron Park-Diamond Springs area. Eleanore moved to Olympia in the spring of 2002 to be near family and lived at Capital Place Retirement the last three years where she made many good friends.

She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Plummer Jr. of Carson City, Nev.; daughters, Barbara Atwell of South Lake Tahoe, Patricia Rightmier of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Louise Ravenel-Dougherty of Columbia, S.C., sons, Capt. James Rodgers, USN-RET of Charleston, S.C., and John Rodgers of Forrest Knolls, Calif.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren too numerous to name. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth K. Hill and Capt. James H. Rodgers, USN-RET; brother, Earl “Mick” Plummer; and son Edward B. Rodgers.

A small memorial service was held for Eleanore at Capital Place Retirement on March 7. The family will gather in August at South Lake Tahoe for Eleanore’s inurnment in accordance with her wishes.
