Elizabeth Pitcairn and The Red Violin return to Reno-Tahoe Area

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – TOCCATA, The Orchestra and Community Choral Artists of the Tahoe Area, presents the Back and Bruch concert series featuring the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra, Chorus, and soloists. Featured soloist will be “Red Stradivarius” violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn, performing the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor and Dvorak’s Romanza for violin. The chorus will present J.S. Bach’s masterpiece, Magnificat, with vocal soloists Katharine DeBoer, Anna Helwing, and Joy Strotz, soprano; Marianne Ashley and Susan Benefield, mezzo sopranos; Andy Sonnemaker and John Hutto, tenors; and Stuart Duke, baritone.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. today, at the Cal Neva Resort in Crystal Bay: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at Resort at Squaw Creek; 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in South Lake Tahoe; and 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. at Trinity Episcopal church in Reno.
