Ernie’s Burger Night Fundraiser benefits CASA of El Dorado County

Staff Report

Join CASA El Dorado on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5-7 p.m. for family fun and good food at Ernie’s Coffee Shop, 1207 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe. Owners Paul and Judy Bruso and their staff have offered up the burger, soda and fries meals for the night.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go to directly to the local court-appointed special advocate program. CASA El Dorado, a nonprofit organization, recruits, trains and matches volunteer advocates with abused or neglected children that are part of the court system through no fault of their own.

CASA volunteers are appointed directly by a judge and attend each court hearing, advocating for the best interests of the child. CASA is a national organization serving in counties throughout the United States. CASA El Dorado has served more than 400 children in the last 12 months alone.

Ernie’s Burger Night tickets are $10 per person (gratuity not included), and can be purchased in advance by calling CASA El Dorado at (530) 573-3072 or e-mail kelly@casaeldorado.org. For more information on CASA of El Dorado County, visit http://www.casaeldorado.org
