The community is invited to “Cowboyup 4 Kids” Sept. 11. The Carson Valley Children’s Center will host this lively fund-raiser at Nelson’s Take Five, 1435 Highway 395 in Gardnerville. Please join us under the huge carnival tent in the parking lot behind Nelson’s from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy a great afternoon of food, fun and live music.

“Cowboyup 4 Kids” will serve a buffet-style lunch with your choice of hamburgers, hot dogs or Sheriff Ron Pierini’s zesty goat meat tacos. Side dishes will also be served. Sodas, bottled water, beer and wine will be available for purchase. Continuous live music will entertain you from the authentic Carson Valley Straw Stage. Bask in the sounds of Blue Valley, Grace and the Pound Dogs and a sizzling all-star country music jam that will have everyone dancing. Your children will love the fun events scheduled including the water balloon toss, Twister and sand art. There is also a raffle with great prizes and a live auction featuring a fiddle signed by the legendary Charlie Daniels. Don’t miss this fabulous event.

The ticket donation is $12 for adults and $5 for children. All the money raised at “Cowboyup 4 Kids” will be used to operate the non-profit Carson Valley Children’s Center in Douglas County. You can purchase tickets at Nelson’s Take Five, The Bank and at the CASA office located in the Douglas County Judicial Building. You may also call Conrad Buedel at (775) 267-6993 to order tickets by phone.

This is the perfect event to teach your children the lifelong gift of community service. Your participation helps galvanize our wonderful community and reinforces the kindness of Carson Valley residents. Thank you so much for your support. “Nurturing Today’s Child for a Better Tomorrow” is a 501(c)3 Corporation, Tax ID #03-0533503.
