Fate of Bill’s still under discussion

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Nothing has been decided when it comes to the future of Bill’s Lake Tahoe Casino, according to one Harrah’s official.

The small casino between Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa closed Jan. 4 due to declining revenues. A local attorney, Mike Laub, has expressed interest in establishing a strip club at the site of the former casino.

Discussions with potential buyers for the building are ongoing, but confidential, said Harrah’s spokesman John Packer.

And a decision regarding the future of the Bill’s building could still be weeks away.

“We’re looking at February or early March,” Packer said. “Right now there is nothing confirmed.”

Sheriff Ron Pierini said last week that he has talked with South Shore attorney Mike Laub regarding the requirements for operating a strip club at the location. Packer said he has not talked to Laub about that possibility. Laub has not returned requests for comment.
