Four-day youth hockey tournament starts Friday

The South Tahoe Amateur Hockey Association will present the fifth annual Lake Tahoe Invitational Hockey Tournament on Friday through Monday at South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena.

This youth hockey tournament features 16 teams from throughout California participating in three age divisions. The host Tahoe Grizzlies are fielding mite (age 8 and below), squirt (ages 9 and 10) and peewee (ages 11 and 12) teams. The four-day tournament gets under way at 11 a.m. Friday, and the final game of opening day starts at 8 p.m. Games run all day Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The Lake Tahoe Invitational concludes with three title games on Monday.



Admission is free. This tournament is the largest fundraiser of the year for Amateur Youth Hockey in Lake Tahoe, featuring raffles and silent auctions.
