Free CPR training available

Tribune staff report

CPR Saturday offers hands-only CPR and AED Training to the public at no charge at the clinic on Oct. 11 at Kahle Community Center 236 Kingsbury Grade in Stateline.

The training clinic will take place at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Drop-in or pre-registration is recommended by calling the Kahle Community Center at 586-7271.

CPR is an emergency lifesaving procedure used to revive someone who has stopped breathing or whose heart has stopped functioning.

More than 90 percent of cardiac arrest victims do not survive. That can be changed in the community. Few attempts at resuscitation are successful if CPR and AED (Automatic Eternal Defibrillation) are not provided within minutes of collapse.

With proper knowledge and tools, everyone can save a life.
