SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Overland Meat & Seafood Company’s annual shipment of fresh turkeys came into town Tuesday, and owner Brian Cohen spent most of the afternoon inventorying the batch.

More than 400 turkeys were delivered to Overland, 300 or more have already been reserved.

The total shipment weighed 5,600 pounds. The smallest turkey Overland carries is seven pounds and the largest is 30 pounds. The most popular size turkey is 18 to 20 pounds.

Cohen said that people should reserve about one pound of turkey per guest.
