Harold Ebright Jr.

A memorial service has been scheduled at 11 a.m. July 7 at Lake Tahoe for Harold R. Ebright Jr., who died March 28, 2007, at his home.

Harold was born in San Francisco, Calif., in 1920. A rugged rancher and horseman, he was a man of many talents. He played football in high school and at the University of California, Berkeley. After Pearl Harbor he joined the Navy and served in the Pacific flying PBY’s and PB2Y’s.

His love of the outdoors and horses became his vocation. While still in his teens he started a pack station and riding stable during summers at Lake Tahoe. After the war he added mule teams pulling wagons at various venues around the state. He was able to continue riding for both business and pleasure into his 70s, all the while maintaining a large circle of friends.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years and his three children and two grandchildren.
