Health-insurance advice available at SLT Senior Center later this month

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) representatives will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center.
Learn your rights as a health-care consumer, Medicare benefits and rights, private Medicare supplemental plans, Medicare Part D prescription-drug programs, getting claims paid if denied, problems with getting service authorized and long-term care.
HICAP is a nonprofit organization that provides counseling and other services at no charge. Services are provided by trained volunteer counselors who are registered with the state of California and provide services regarding Medicare-related issues.
