Locally owned A to Z Insurance is celebrating 50 years in business and a new location with an open house party Jan. 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 3331 Sandy Way.

The company began in 1959 as the Tahoe Valley Insurance Agency, growing to include Fesler Insurance Agency and Sierra Tahoe Insurance Agency. For the past 30 years, the company has been known as A to Z Insurance.

“We’re proud to say we’ve served our community for 50 years and now we’re moving into our own building across from where we’ve been for the last 10 years,” said owner Bill Kolstad, Jr.

The building is also home to the Tahoe Youth & Family Services and the Teen Drop-In Center, and near Bank of America and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

“The new location allows us to better accommodate local businesses and nonprofits because of the 20-seat executive meeting room which is a perk for our current clients and available to others at a nominal charge,” Kolstad said.
