At least $1,420 in watches were reported stolen from an open-air jewelry store at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe during an employee’s 10-minute break, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy said.

The watches, at least 71 and at most 80, were enclosed in a plastic case among three others at Landau Jewelry on Wednesday. Each watch was individually encased in soft plastic.

At 12:30 p.m. the employee took a break after placing four cases in a cabinet. When she returned, one case was missing, the deputy said.
