John Napier

John Patrick Lawrence Napier, 21, passed away Aug. 12, 2005, In Huntington Beach, Calif. He was the victim of an alleged drunk driver and died instantly without suffering.

Johnny lived in South Lake Tahoe from age 2 to 16. He attended Sierra House Elementary School, South Tahoe Middle School and South Tahoe High School. He was active in many sports, including varsity cheerleading at STHS and he loved to snowboard. He graduated in 2002 from Castro Valley High School. He was pursuing his education at the community college in Huntington Beach, while working in sales at Abercrombie & Fitch.

His family, coaches, teachers and many friends knew Johnny as a happy and cheerful young person who spoke no ill of others. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and for his genuine friendship and cheerful support for all those around him. Johnny was an adored brother and son. He loved his sisters and his sisters loved him more than anything. They were an extremely close, loving, God-loving family. He was loved by friends, teachers, extended family, animals and children. He will be more than greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tammy and Pembroke Gochnauer of South Lake Tahoe; father and stepmother, John and Susan Napier of Castro Valley, Calif.; sisters, Jennifer Napier and Melissa Gochnauer of South Lake Tahoe and Alaina Napier of Castro Valley.

Family and friends are invited to share in a Celebration of Life for Johnny at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at McFarlane Mortuary, 887 Emerald Bay Road.
