Joseph Sabino Chacon

1935 – 2008

Joseph S. Chacon passed away October 14, 2008 at Barton Hospital. He was born in Manasa, Colo. March 22, 1935, into a Native American heritage with grandparents who were born on the reservation in Wounded Knee, Idaho.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Norma Chacon; son, Joey Chacon; grandsons, Joey and Nicholas Chacon; great-grandson, Ryland Chacon and his large extended loving family.

He was a resident of South Lake Tahoe for 50 years and the owner of J.P. Chadom Jewelers for the past 23 years. Before the store Joseph worked at Harrah’s and also as a shift manager at Sahara Tahoe.

A self-made man, he had a generous nature which he shared many times with personal and favorite charities of his.

Living life to the fullest, Joseph spoke five languages, was a world traveler, an expert fly fisherman, enjoyed golfing and had a great sense of humor.

Services will take place at 10 a.m., October 21, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1041 Lyons Ave., South Lake Tahoe followed by a burial at Happy Homestead Cemetery, 1261 Johnson Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
