Afroman gives new meaning to the term one-hit wonder.

His song “Because I Got High” from his debut full-length album brought stardom in 2001. He’s been on a high ever since.

Afroman will have three smoking shows in the Tahoe area. He lights up the Frank Sinatra Room at the Cal Neva Resort on Friday, April 22. He’ll burn down to the Reno Underground on Saturday and he will just say Mo on Sunday at Mo’s Place in South Lake Tahoe.

Performing with Afroman will be Smoke & LA, Trever Crow, Ace High, DJ-Bird.

Tickets for the Late Nite Production shows are $20 advance or $25 at the door.

“Because I Got High” became a hit after it was aired on “The Howard Stern Show,” and it explained how weed became the excuse for all his faults. It has been played in the movies “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” “The Perfect Score” and “Disturbia.” It was nominated in 2002 for a Grammy Award in the category Best Rap Solo Performance.
