Kenith Ray Sample

A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Zephyr Cove Pavilion A, for Kenith Ray Sample, 58, of Dayton, Nev., who died June 17, 2007, at his residence following his battle with cancer.

Ken was born and raised in Gridley, Calif., before moving to South Lake Tahoe, where he lived for three years before moving to Dayton. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971, and after serving in Vietnam was honorably discharged. He worked at MontBleu Casino in the security department. Ken enjoyed spending time with his wife and their dog, Charlotte, going to the ocean, and collecting alien memorabilia. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He could light up your life with just his smile.

Survivors include his wife of four years, Deborah Sample of Dayton; mother Etta Sample of Gridley; daughters, Patty Hadley of Puyallup, Wash., and Sara Hutchison of Sumner, Wash.; brothers, Harold Sample of Richvale, Calif., and Ron Sample of Antioch, Calif.; sister, Darlene Gilman of Zenia Calif.; stepson, Mike Eatherton of Hampstead N.C.; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; his beloved dog, Charlotte; and his in-laws, the Crawford family. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Sample, and brother, Dwight Sample.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Nevada Cancer Society.
