Kjell Hakansson

Memorial services will take place Saturday for Kjell Hakansson, who passed away June 1, 2007, at his home in South Lake Tahoe.

Kjell was born March 29, 1926, in Sweden and immigrated to the United States with his wife, son and daughter in 1962. He had resided at South Lake Tahoe since 1972, where he was a member of Elks Lodge 2094 and the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League. He enjoyed cross country skiing and square dancing and he liked to read.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kerstin Hakansson of South Lake Tahoe; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Maggie Hakansson of Gardnerville, Nev.; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Curt Kuykendall of Orange County, Calif.; grandchildren, Casey, Tiffany, Jimmy, Tammy and Jessica; and many friends.



Services will begin at 11 a.m.Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church of the Sierra, 930 Julie Lane. A reception will follow.
