Letter — Officers thank gallery, givers

Tahoe Daily Tribune

In early February 2003, South Lake Tahoe Police Explorer David Peterson was admitted to the hospital. David is extremely ill and is still hospitalized. In an effort to lift David’s spirits, the South Lake Tahoe Police Officers’ Association enlisted the help of Gallery of Legends Sports Memorabilia, located inside of Harrah’s Casino. As it turns out, David is a devoted San Francisco Giants fan.

Allen Nieve and the Gallery of Legends came through for us in a big way. At the end of March, officers and personnel from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department visited David in the hospital and presented him with a baseball signed by Barry Bonds, a Pacific Bell Park opening day photograph and a bat signed by Barry Bonds. It was probably one of the best days that David has had in a long time.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Officer’s Association thanks Allen Nieve and the Gallery of Legends for their generous contributions that most certainly will play a role in David’s recovery.
