Letter to the editor: A victory for the League to Save Lake Tahoe
Ryan Summerlin October 23, 2012
Dear Robert A. Damaschino, president of the League to Save Lake Tahoe, and Darcie Goodman-Collins, executive director,
Congratulations and thank you! On Oct. 11, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld your lawsuit against Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the owners of Sierra Colina, who are trying to develop a sensitive 18-acre parcel of raw land on Burke Creek in Nevada.
The League has a long and illustrious history of standing up for the lake and keeping Tahoe Blue. Without you and both your collaborative efforts and especially your lawsuits, short-sighted development interests would have destroyed this international treasure of ours years ago.
Please keep up the good work. Do not give in to the pressure mounted against you by special interests who want you to abandon your mission to be the League to Save Lake Tahoe.
Again, congratulations on your latest win, and thank you.
