Locals warned about concert traffic

With a sold-out Eagles show and an anticipated crowd of 6,800 concertgoers tonight, parking will be limited to guests at Harveys Resort Casino.

South Shore concert attendees are asked to use the parking lot at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe or other public parking areas for the show.

“We had a pretty good crowd for the Journey concert and learned from the size of the crowd that there was gridlock. Harveys became a choke point where people were trying to get in,” said Harrah’s/Harveys spokesman John Packer.

Meanwhile, another round of 100 tickets will be available on Saturday for the second Eagles show on Aug. 20. The tickets will go on sale at noon Saturday at the outside box office at Harveys Resort Casino near the entrance of the outdoor amphitheater.

Last Saturday, 130 tickets for tonight’s Eagle show sold out quickly, Packer said.

This Saturday’s concert is by “Red Rocker” and former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com or the box office at Harveys.
