LTUSD opens registration for incoming students

Lake Tahoe Unified School District has announced registration dates for incoming students.
Children entering kindergarten must register at their designated elementary school. Boundaries are available at www.ltusd.org or a map can be picked up at the education center, 1021 Al Tahoe Blvd.
To be eligible for enrollment, children must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1. Children born in the month of October or November who will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 2 qualify for transitional kindergarten, which is a two-year kindergarten program).
California law requires that parents or guardians provide the child’s birth certificate; proof of immunization, which includes the Varicella, aka chicken pox, Hepatitis B and, for most children, the last booster shot; a health examination upon entry to school — schedule with your family doctor or the health department at 573-3155; oral health examination upon entry to school, dental examinations that have occurred in the last 12 months meet this requirement; and proof of California residency.

Fall registration for South Tahoe High School will be held Aug. 13-15. Call 543-2255 for more information. Freshmen and New Student Orientation will be held Aug. 22 at 10:30 a.m. on the football field.
The first day of school will be held Aug. 26.
