Molly E. Owen

Molly E. Owen, long-time Lake Tahoe resident, passed away at age 99, in Carson City, Nev., Thursday, October 2, 2008.

Molly was born, May 7, 1909 to Mr. and Mrs. Timmons, in Dublin, Ireland.

She worked for the Red Cross in France, during World War II. After the war she worked for the International Refugee Organization and finally as their U.S. foreign correspondent. In 1953 she immigrated to the United States.

Molly enjoyed writing, playing golf, tennis, bridge, skiing, traveling, and cruising in her red T-bird.

Molly was predeceased by her husband, British Navel Officer, Charles Owen, whom she met while in Hong Kong in 1939, and sister Doreen Williams, of England. Molly will be greatly missed by her many friends.

Memorial services will take place at a later date.
