Two new restaurants, Peppers Mexican Grill and Base Camp Pizza Co., have opened at Heavenly Village.
Peppers Mexican Grill is owned and operated by Tahoe Bud and Michelle Hillman, who also own the Driftwood Cafe, which is also located in Heavenly Village. Peppers Mexican Grill, located just in front of the Village fountain, offers a tableside service, casual dining experience with Mexican and Southwestern fare, including wine margaritas, and a variety of beers on tap. According to a press release, diners can enjoy indoor dining in an intimate casual ambiance, or outdoor dining on the patio near the fountain.
Base Camp Pizza Co., owned by Tahoe area residents Ray Villaman, Ted Kennedy and Marc Vacarro, offers casual, family-style dining. The menu includes gourmet pizzas, such as Thai curry chicken, and BBQ chicken with smoked gouda, as well as pastas and salads, and a full bar with eight microbrews on tap. The decor features large, upholstered booth seating and festive red camping lanterns, while plans are underway to expand the outdoor patio seating and add fire pits, live music and an outdoor bar, the press release stated. The owners also own pizza restaurants at the Village at Squaw and Northstar Village.
