Obit — Brooksie Louise Wilson

Graveside services will take place Feb. 12 for Brooksie Louise Wilson, who died Feb. 7, 2003, at South Lake Tahoe. She was 88.

Mrs. Wilson was born Dec. 7, 1914, at Portland, Ore., and grew up in Mill City and Salem, Ore. Her heart was always in the Pacific Northwest. She was a stenographer in Portland during World War II. She married Rex R. Wilson and moved to Salinas, Calif., where they raised their children. She was a homemaker and worked in real estate for a few years after the children left home. Mrs. Wilson and her husband retired in Ashland, Ore., where she enjoyed being part of the Foster Grandparents Program for years. After she was widowed she moved to Seattle, Wash., in 1990, and settled in the Ballard district. In 1994 she moved to South Lake Tahoe.

Survivors include her daughters, Lane Emerick of South Lake Tahoe and Mary Carlson of Seattle. She was predeceased by her husband.



Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at Happy Homestead Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to a local animal shelter, Sierra Club or other conservation organization.

Arrangements are by McFarlane Mortuary.
