Lee was born in Chicago, IL to Felix and Gertrude Szromba.

He moved to Los Angeles when he was 26 with his first wife and their 3 young children. He worked in architecture, and with the great LA weather, got involved in various athletic activities, like skiing, baseball, golf and hiking. His fourth child was born in LA.

Lee worked at various Architecture firms and ended up at Los Angeles firm Conrad Associates where he worked for 15 + years.

In 1976 he met his current wife Rande, her two children, and in 1980, they married and moved to the Bay Area, where, skiing in and around Lake Tahoe became a regular weekend activity. In 1992, Lee and Rande bought a home in South Lake Tahoe, and in 2001, when he retired Lee & Rande’s dream of living in Lake Tahoe became a reality. Lee loved the outdoors, and all the activities that were available in the Tahoe Basin. Lee joined the Sons in Retirement and was an avid golfer. Lee hiked, biked and boated the summers and skied with his wife, friends and relatives throughout the Tahoe winters. Lee and Rande also traveled extensively around the planet, and on one trip found his Szromba relatives in a town near Krakow, Poland.

He is survived by his wife Rande, 3 of his 4 children, his two stepchildren, 3 siblings, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Rande says, “after 41 years he is me and I am him. I will remember all that we did, all they we saw and all that we loved. He will be greatly missed.”
