OBITUARY: Isabelle E. Bounds

Isabelle E. Bounds, 91 years old, passed from this world on December 1, 2012 at Portneuf Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. Isabelle was born in Sardinia, New York on November 24, 1921, one of seven girls and three boys to Antonio and Raphela Donato from Italy. Isabelle was a first generation immigrant that found her way from a farm just outside of New York City to the dream she achieved as a professional singer. A New York Times article called her the “Lady with a blue velvet voice.” After singing professionally for more than 17 years, she left the music industry and settled in South Lake Tahoe, California. It was in Lake Tahoe that she raised her family.
Isabelle enjoyed traveling and visited many countries including: Australia, Indonesia, Bali and many other wonderful places. She of course loved to sing, but also enjoyed painting, reading and cooking. She was an amazing woman, a wife and mother and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her children: John Donato, Phyllis Arriola, Mary Bounds, Paul Bounds, grandchildren: Matthew Donato, Garret Donato, Douglas Schinzing, Craig Schinzing, Angela Jacoby and Jeremy Bounds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bounds, sons: Tony “Anthony” Bounds and Al Bounds.
A memorial mass for Isabelle will be held on Saturday December 8th, 2012 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Pocatello, Idaho.
