OBITUARY: Jarvis Donald Thomas

Jarvis Donald Thomas, 78 passed on July 15, 2012 peacefully at his home. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Wilma (Jetton); children Sonya, Kelly, Guy, Tausha, Toby and Dovie; siblings Guy, Doug and Pauline; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many more family and close friends.

Born in Camino, Calif., son of Paul and Lillian Thomas entering the Marine Corps Reserve in 1953-1961. Jarvis ranked Sergeant and received the following medals: Nation Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and two Marine Good Conduct Medals.

After serving with the Marines, he moved to So Lake Tahoe, Calif. joining the Laborers Union where he retired after 45 years in 1996.

If you knew “Joe”, you knew he had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing, with the love of fly fishing. It was Snow Lake up in the desolation wilderness that was his favorite location.

He volunteered 30 years to Christmas Cheer and was a very hardworking, patient, loving man. He will be missed by many.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
