OBITUARY: Ken Branson
Ryan Summerlin September 12, 2012
Ken Branson (aka Pack Rat or The Rat) passed away on August 21, 2012 after a brave battle with Cancer.
He is survived by his sister Kathy Lopes and his brother Bob Branson. Ken and his family grew up in San Leandro, CA. In 1982 he moved to S. Lake Tahoe to start new ventures.
Ken was known best for his business Pack Rat . His business consisted of cleaning yards, construction clean up and clearing out houses. The business brought Ken to know nearly all the building contractors and property managers in the Tahoe Region.
Ken was a gentle man with a broad easy smile. Anyone who listened to his exploits in the armed services in Korea could see a perfect picture of Radar. Ken could supply anyone with anything. Ken was at his best when conveying a story about all the precious items that he found while cleaning out his latest foreclosure or estate.
Many afternoons Ken could be found at Steamers getting his usual 2 beers. Ken proudly touted, “I buy the first and someone always buys me the next one!”
Ken loved a bargain, his dog Bugsy, and best of all a freebie. He was loved by all and this entire community will miss Pack Rat.
