One dies in Placerville shooting

A 37-year-old man died late Friday after he was reportedly shot at a residence on the 3100 block of Lo Hi Way in Placerville.
Just before midnight, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a gunshot at the home. Shortly thereafter, dispatchers received a reported that a man armed with a handgun had entered a residence and had been shot with a shotgun and then attempted to leave the residence and was laying on the ground just outside the door of the residence.
Deputies found the man laying face down outside the door of the residence just after midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide Detectives and Coroner Detectives are currently investigating the incident. There have been no arrests as of this time. The deceased man’s identification is being withheld pending the notification of family members.
