On the Hill: Hiking at Van Sickle Bi-State Park

On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today's activity: Hiking at Van Sickle Bi-State Park.

Conditions: Michelle takes a hike to a waterfall on the Van Sickle Trail in South Lake Tahoe. Visitors can walk to the trailhead from the casino corridor. The hike to the waterfall is about 3 miles roundtrip, which takes about half hour in both directions. The beginning moves through boulders before getting a bit steeper, but offers views of the lake.

Today's weather: Today's high is 88 degrees, with a chance of thunderstorms this evening. The rest of the week follows suit, with tempatures in the 80s. Put on your sunscreen and get out and enjoy the holiday weekend. — National Weather Service
