On the Hill: Mountain biking Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today's activity: Mountain biking Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Conditions: Possibly the best-known Lake Tahoe trail for intermediate to advanced riders, Mr. Toad's lives up to its name by providing a super technical, fast ride. Drew Hanley takes us on the section from the top of Luther Pass at Hwy 89, which lets you ride the Tahoe Rim Trail up to the ridge, then down Mr. Toad's.

Today's weather: A little more wind today, and unfortunately we're dealing with the smoke from a fire near Auburn, Calif., but temps are in the high 70s today so it's still a great day at Lake Tahoe. — National Weather Service
