Police looking for South Lake Tahoe robbery suspect

Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed El Dorado Savings Bank Wednesday morning.

According to South Lake Tahoe police, the robbery took place about 9:39 a.m. when a man entered the bank, located at 3443 Lake Tahoe Blvd., and gave a teller a note that demanded cash and stated that he had a gun, but no gun was seen.

The man left the location with an unknown amount of cash shortly afterward, police said. Police released a photo of the suspect from the surveillance cameras. In the photos, the man, who has not been profiled at a specific height, is wearing a button-up shirt, a hat, shorts and sandals. From surveillance footage, police stated the suspect appears to be a white male adult in his 50s, about 6-foot-2 and his weight is proportionate to height, according to a press release from South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

He was seen in the footage wearing a beige baseball hat, a short-sleeved plaid button-down shirt, khaki cargo shorts and flip-flop sandals, the release stated.

“A potential suspect vehicle was seen driving quickly away from the area of the bank,” the release stated.

Police stated the car is a black four-door, dual-cab Dodge Ram pickup truck equipped with a toolbox in the bed. The year of the truck is estimated to be between 2000 and 2005.
