Craigslist transaction ends in robbery, drug charges

Tribune staff report

Three people were arrested after a reported Craiglist transaction went awry during the weekend.

On Saturday the Roseville Police Department was called to the scene of a reported strong-arm robbery where the victim reported that he was beaten and robbed by three suspects.

During the assault, the suspects allegedly stole $30,000 in cash. The victim reported he was purchasing a vehicle from a Craigslist ad when the robbery occurred. During the course of the investigation, the Roseville Police Department received information that the suspects were in the South Lake Tahoe area. On Sunday, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) did a follow-up investigation and identified three suspects allegedly involved in the robbery.

With cooperation from the Roseville Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff’s Department SLTPD officers were able to identify all three suspects. One of the suspects, Jeremy Wood, was employed as a security guard at Lakeside Casino and was arrested without incident.

Further investigation led another SLTPD officer to locate the vehicle identified in the robbery, driving toward the casinos on Lake Tahoe Boulevard. A traffic stop was performed on the vehicle, where another suspect, Dylan Sapsford, was arrested.

The third suspect, Eric Anderson, was arrested as a result of a search warrant on his residence. In addition to the robbery charges Anderson was also charged with cultivation of marijuana.

A substantial amount of cash was also recovered.
