Kudos & Kindness: Girl Scout says thank you
I would like to thank Capisce, Mott Canyon Tavern and Grill, Safeway at Round Hill, Ray Sidney and the George Whittell High School Boosters Club for their generous contributions to the STEM GEMS Slumber Party. It wouldn’t have been possible without them.
My Girl Scout Gold Award project aimed at addressing the unequal representation of women in STEM fields through a slumber party for all the girls in my school. It was a huge success and we had a great time. The girls learned a lot about STEM, coding and women in these fields, and are excited about coming back next year.
I would also like to thank Susan Van Doren and Madeline Cronk for everything they’ve done for the STEM program at Whittell, as well as everything they’ve done for me.
Finally, I would like to thank Dawn Evans for being my Girl Scout leader and mentor. She encouraged me to complete the Gold Award, and has always been very supportive.
