Letter to the Editor: Feedback sought on SummerFest future

Before memories of this past summer fade, I am writing to say thank you for your generous support of Lake Tahoe SummerFest 2013.

On the beautiful campus of Sierra Nevada College, within an acoustical concert tent, extraordinary music from Beethoven to Brubeck, with soloists Fredericka von Stade, Jennifer Koh, Benjamin Hochman and Chris Brubeck, was presented, with standing ovations at every concert.

Because of your support, Lake Tahoe SummerFest was able to bring the very best orchestral musicians from throughout the United States and beyond, and make great advances toward our goal of becoming a sought-after destination for lovers of classical music, performed at the very highest level in an intimate concert venue.

Also, we nearly doubled our ticket sales compared to the 2013 inaugural season and many of our concerts were sold out.

By the time the tent came down, our artistic director and principal conductor, Joel Revzen, was passionately planning the 2014 Lake Tahoe Summer Fest Concert Season.

Your reflections and suggestions are valued, so please visit our website at www.tahoe and send us ideas for development and sustainability.

Looking forward to next summer and sharing the transformational power of music with you.
