Letter to the Editor: Adopt-a-senior program big success

The annual “Holiday Giving Program” was a great success thanks to the generosity of many supporters in the Incline Village/Crystal Bay community.

Individuals and local organizations joined efforts with the staff at Incline Village Parks & Recreation - Senior Programs to bring holiday cheer to 36 local seniors, referred to staff by others in the community.

Generous “adopters” volunteered their time and money to ensure “wish list items” and a holiday meal gift card, were delivered to all referred senior “adoptees.”

After shopping and wrapping, personally selected gifts and grocery gift cards were delivered to recipients December 16-18 in time for holiday festivities.

Anyone interested in contributing time, gifts or donations to next year’s event may call the Incline Village Parks & Recreation Department - Senior Programs staff to be put on a list for notification when the program gears up for the 2014 holiday season.
