Letter — Get what you didn’t vote for

Tahoe Daily Tribune

The term “you get what you pay for” could be changed to “you get what you didn’t vote for.”

The South Lake Tahoe City Council paid $75,000 for an incomplete survey of buildings that need renovation. It was incomplete because the company had to do the survey from curbside — real sharp. Then the council paid out $8,000 to have a meeting to get to know each other. Now, the TRPA is awaiting a Nevada report on why trees are dying along Nevada roads. Duh, salt is not a nutrient. This cost is $19,000. My point is, these people were appointed by or voted in by less than 40 percent of the voters. Wake up, folks. This is our money being wasted. This country will never be defeated by an outside power but will be destroyed by people voted in by 30-40 percent of the voters. Remember folks, “you get what you didn’t vote for.”
