Jose Ignacio Rivera Calvo

The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club has welcomed its newest Rotary Youth Exchange student, Jose Ignacio Rivera Calvo. Ignacio is from Los Angeles, Chile, and is attending Whittell High School as a junior. He is an avid soccer player and already has established himself as a member of Whittell’s varsity team.

Greg and Kim Felton of Stateline are hosting Ignacio. Toward the end of his exchange, Joe and Cheryl Zarachoff will be his hosts.

Rotary Youth Exchange selects students through an application and interview process, which kicks off each September.

Interested students must be at least 15 1/2 years old and not older than 18 1/2 at the beginning of an exchange.

More information about the RYE program and the application process is available at http://www.rye5190.org/how.htm. Applications for the 2009-10 school year must be submitted to Max Glasson by Oct. 8. Interested students may contact Glasson via e-mail at maxwell@glassonappraisal.com.
