Senior variety show planned

Tahoe Daily Tribune

Since last year’s performance played to a standing room only crowd with many accolades from the audience, the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center is sponsoring another show. The second annual Ageless Entertainers Variety Show will begin at 1 p.m. Aug. 23 at the SLT Recreation Complex, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

Anne Kirk, professional dancer, singer and comedian, will return as director of the show. She also will teach songs and dances and coordinate the rest of the acts.

The group is looking for seniors who are 50 years of age or older, with professional or amateur experience, to participate in the show. They are invited to come with their acts of singing, dancing, joke telling, prose or poetry reciting, playing musical instruments and/or just to be ready to learn some new routines. Any act is acceptable as long as there is at least one senior in it.

The first rehearsal will be at 7 p.m. June 3 and will continue June 10, 17 and 26. Rehearsals also will be rehearsals in July and August.

For more information call Arline June Gordon at (775) 588-6997 or the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center at (530) 542-6094.
