Sierra Club sets meeting date

The conservation committee of the Tahoe Area Sierra Club will meet from 6:45 to 9 p.m. March 20 at the fire station on Elks Point Road in Nevada. Take Highway 50 to the stoplight at Round Hill Shopping Center, turn west on Elks Point Road and go 1/2 block, then turn left into the fire station parking lot. The meeting is in the classroom.

Susie Lagrandeur of the Forest Service will be the guest speaker. Lagrandeur, the lead wilderness ranger at Tahoe, will discuss local wilderness issues and how local hikers can help out. Other Tahoe issues also will be discussed.
