Software speeds up permits
June 5, 2007
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency has launched a new permitting and land management tool, Accela Automation, that the agency hopes will streamline its permitting and land use tracking procedures.
Agency officials expect Accela to improve customer service by allowing clients to go online to schedule inspections, apply for permits and conduct research on parcels. The tool will also allow agency site inspectors to remotely input results and will give users direct access to information associated with a permit.
TRPA officials have been working since 2004 to reduce the number of project applications that have been in-house for more than 120 days, according to a press statement from the agency.
