South Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Arts Alliance team up for gallery project

A partnership between the city of South Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Arts Alliance will come to life Monday, June 12, during an art gallery reception at City Hall.

The city’s lobby will serve as a blank canvas to display local artists, with pieces rotating throughout the year, according to a press release. All art on display will be available to purchase.

For the initial opening exhibition period, Tahoe Arts Alliance — which connects artists, businesses and organizations on the South Shore — invited the Tahoe Art League to take the lead and organize the space with art from its members. There will be an open call from TAA for individuals or organizations to take the space and host a reception going forward.

If you are interested in future exhibitions, contact TAA at TahoeArtsAlliance.org.

The Tahoe Art League is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting fine art and arts education on the South Shore since 1964. It provides free once a month art demos or programs during specific months, workshops and classes, and its own art gallery as well as other art spaces, such as the one at City Hall, among other activities for all ages, needs and talents.

The reception runs from 6-8 p.m. It’s open to the public and will include a meet and greet with displaying artists and city officials.
