South Shore dancers study ballet with the world’s best
October 1, 2008
Two students from Marcia Sarosik’s dance studio spent their summers studying ballet with some of the world’s best teachers.
Casey Perieira, 15, spent eight hours a day for six weeks at the Kirov Ballet’s summer program in Washington, D.C.
Melissa Jo Marsh, 13, spent four weeks studying with the State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara.
While this was the first extended trip away from home for both girls, “they were homesick for a day or two, but dancing all day helped them get past that pretty quickly,” their mothers said.
Upon returning to the South Shore, Perieira and Marsh are continuing their dancing studies at Sarosik’s studio.
