Angels explode in win over Giants

Milt Vasquez went 3 for 3 with three runs scored, while Ricky Braun and Alex Vogt combined for five hits, two doubles and four runs scored in the Angels’ 13-3 win over the Giants in a South Tahoe Babe Ruth playoff winner’s bracket game on Sunday at Todd Fields.
The Angels never trailed, scoring three runs in the first inning and seven more in the fifth. The Giants were led by Dylan Simonian, who hit a double and scored a run, and Tyler Slater, who singled and scored.
The Angels face the Dodgers in a winner’s bracket game on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Tanner McAvoy went 4 for 4 with a double and three runs scored, while Jess Latta was 3 for 5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI in the Dodgers’ winner’s bracket win over the Red Sox on Sunday.
Chris Winslow went 3 for 3 with three RBI and three runs scored, while Keith Zlendick added three hits, including two doubles, in the victory. The Dodgers play the Angels in a winner’s bracket game on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Red Sox’s Kory DiGrande scored twice, while Jordan Zager and Nick Warner both singled. The Red Sox face the Mariners in an elimination game tonight at 6.

Also on Sunday, the A’s elminated the Padres with their 9-6 win.
The A’s strung together five straight hits in the third inning to score three times and remain alive in the double-elimination format.
Following an out, Leo Treotich singled; Jamie Yelles doubled; and James Coolbaugh, Jake Daum and Joe Bacci Zanetell each singled as the A’s broke a 2-2 tie and took the lead for good.
Daum and Zanetell led the A’s with three hits apiece. Griffen Boles doubled during the A’s two-run second.
Dillon McKeen, Rigel Garman and Eric Ward topped the Padres with two hits.
Tyler Slater and Cody Higgins combined for four hits and eight runs scored in leading the Giants past the Mariners in a first-round playoff game on Saturday. Chris Yarrow hit a home run and was 3 for 5, and Dylan Simonian scored four times.
The Mariners, who went ahead 4-1 early in the game, were led by Jake Braun, who went 3 for 3 with a double, and Jason Reum and Nick Twyman, who combined for four hits and three runs.
Chris Winslow went 3 for 4 with two RBI, a double and two runs scored, while Jess Latta went 2 for 3 with two runs in the Dodgers’ narrow victory over the Padres.
Rigel Garman and Brian Henderson both had three hits in the loss, with Dillon McKeen (2 for 4) and Henderson each scoring twice.
Alex Lopez went 2 for 2 with a run scored, and Nick Warner singled and scored twice in the Sox’s three-run victory over the A’s. Jordan Zager added a single and scored twice.
For the A’s, Jamie Yelles doubled and scored twice, while Jake Daum and Leo Trebotich both singled and scored.
