Staff reports

Tahoe Soccer Academy, directed by Tim Johnson, still has spots available in all age groups for its sixth annual camp July 14-18 at Al Tahoe Elementary.

Tahoe Soccer Academy is available to ages 4-12. Johnson, who is a physical education instructor at LTCC, offers four age groups in his camps, with half-day and full-day options.

The half-day camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon, while the full-day camp is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The full-day camp is only for ages 8-12. Half-day cost is $120, and full-day cost is $195.

For more information, contact Johnson at (530) 544-7579 or at (530) 318-5452. Preregistration, which is highly recommended as spots fill up quickly, is available until July 3.

Mexican soccer clubs Cruz Azul and Tigres will play an exhibition match on July 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Raley Field in Sacramento.

Before the exhibition match, former Mexican soccer stars Manuel Negrete and Luis Roberto Alves, also known as ‘Zague,’ will sign autographs and pose for photographs.
