Mitey Mites come up short in Sparks

The South Lake Tahoe Vikings Mitey Mites traveled to Sparks last Friday night to take on the Sparks Cardinals under the lights. It was a well-played game by both teams, with back-and-forth action until the last drive. The final score was 40-32, with the Vikings coming up just short.

The Vikings offense; led by Reece Catchings, Daven Cammeck, Trenton Schouten and Joel Gomez Jr.; had a great night running the ball, taking the punch to the Cardinals defense. The offensive line; led by Jake Whisnant, Zachery Degischer, Ryan Aguila, Troy Dingman, Tadi Wright and Kyle Davis; held its own and opened holes for the running backs all night. On defense the Vikings; led by Jace Keezer, Andrea Smith, Zander Labonte, Garret Friederici, Colton Knotts, Omar Manzano and Koa Hadaway; were stout, making stop after stop to keep the game close. Special teams also played a big role in the game with great onside kicks from Paden Magdaleno and Payton Hilscher.

UP NEXT: The Mitey Mites’ play Friday in Sparks, where they will face the Steelers at 6 p.m.
