Vail Resorts extends ski season at Lake Tahoe resorts
Ski and snowboard season at Vail Resorts’ Lake Tahoe properties will head into mid and late April this year, the company announced Wednesday on the heels of a series of winter storms that dumped more than 6 feet of snow in seven days.
Heavenly Mountain Resort will stay open daily through April 23, as well as the weekend of April 28 – 30, according to a press release sent Wednesday. Kirkwood Mountain will remain open through April 16. On the north end of Lake Tahoe, Northstar California will stay open until April 23.
“We’re thrilled to offer guests great skiing and riding, as well as a variety of spring activities for visitors this spring at Heavenly and Northstar,” Pete Sonntag, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Heavenly Mountain Resort, said in the press release. “With the record snowfall totals in January and continued snowfall throughout the season, we’re excited to offer guests an unparalleled experience at the mountains.”
All three resorts have experienced the snowiest winter on record, with a current season total measuring more than 40 feet.
