Stuck car earns citation

An 18-year-old man was cited after an El Dorado County sheriff’s deputy found him and friends trying to push a

1988 Honda Civic off sand at Kiva Beach, authorities said.

The deputy was reporting to a bonfire party call Thursday night when he spotted five males trying to push the car off the beach.

In other news:

— A 41-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was taken into custody Saturday evening when police found 10 hypodermic needles stuffed in his dashboard after he was pulled over for having oversized tires and no mud flaps, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.

The officer found a paper bindle containing suspected methamphetamine weighing 0.4 grams in the back of the man’s car, the officer said.

The man was booked into El Dorado County Jail on charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

— A fax machine and eight radios were reported missing from Fallen Leaf Campground Store, an El Dorado County sheriff’s deputy said. There were no signs of forced entry.
